Well, after a second reading of my own post, I realise that I forgot something important that enforced anti-americanism in France in 1967 : The Viet-Nam war, which was impopular in France : - Viet-Nam was a former french colony and seeing the USA involving into it had not been seen in a good way. - At that time, communism was also popular amongst the students, and particulary Maoism (French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre was backing up this movement at that time). A war against communist forces was so condamned by a strong minority of the french population.
