New Museum in Paris

Check the NY Times today. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/06/arts/design/06prim.html?pagewanted=2&t...

There is an article on the new Musée de Quai Branley, Chirac's museum of primitive art. It won't open until 2006 but the article is very interesting.

crc95, How did Chirac "move away" the Musée de la Marine? It is still in the Palais de Chaillot, isn't it? I got the impression from the article that the new museum was in a totally different place just because no one wanted Chirac to move the Musée de la Marine. Je ne comprends pas.

That museum is bound to be a national shame. Chirac moved away the Musée de la Marine, part of the French true heritage, to built that stupid thing filled with made in Taiwan crap that nobody will ever go see. Just to prove that 'uh uh look at me I'm friends with he Third World !'.

Very interesting indeed!

SalB/crc95: I have seen the place under construction for the last few years. It should be interesting. Donerail

Weird to see the article more interesting than the museum.
