Does anybody know whether the banque de france is open on the 23rd, 26th, 27th, or 28th of December? Are traveler's cheques in euros accepted by any merchant or restaurant? I hear they charge for cashing the traveler's cheques.

Hi, I am an Australian writer travelling through Europe. I am arriving in Paris on Christmas Day, and was quite keen to try Notre Dame myself for a service. Also doing Moulin Rouge that night. When are the services held? Would there be services on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day at Notre Dame Cathedral? How do I find out about the services? Do I just show up at the cathedral?

do you know when the christmas decorations and lights start to appear in Paris? I will be there from 12/3 through 12/9 and hope to see some color. thanks

Stay in the 5er close to Notre Dame. The Christmas services there are magical regardless of one's religous pursuasion.
