Photo Ops
Submitted by exjumper on January 14, 2006 - 8:58am.
Bonjour (?)
My wife and I are heading for Paris the last week of April 2006. Being a photography fan I am seeking a hotel that offers ample photo ops as well a being in close proximity of the major monuments and attractions. Hopefully the hotel will be clean, comfortable and well maintained as well as being situated centrally.something in the 100-125 Euro range is ok. Eagerly awaitng your help. Exjumper |

We usually stay at the Hotel de la Sorbonne in the Latin Quarter. It's inexpensive, clean, friendly and in a great location. The staff seem to all speak English although I'm sure I haven't met all of them. If you want to use it, click on the blue and red france.com above and then type Sorbonne into the search window.
The Latin Quarter and St. Germain are the most centrally located for most of the "normal" tourist spots. Another one, a little more expensive is the Hotel Clement in St. Germain. Type Clement into the france.com search window. Both are very reasonable.
I'm assuming you aren't planning to shoot pictures out your hotel window when I suggest these two places. I'm not sure what to recommend if that is what you have in mind. If you want Paris rooftops, take the glass elevator at the Pompidou Center. The views from the top are spectacular . . . Paris rooftops, churches and especially Sacre Coeur in the distance on its hill.
Have a great trip.
