where do I leave my luggage?

For our upcoming trip to Europe, we're planning a "drive-by" visit to Paris. We'll take the crack-of-dawn train from London to Paris (which arrives about 9am), and plan to take the night train to Munich (which leaves at about 10pm).

Obviously, we don't want to drag our luggage around with us. And while I'd like to assume that there are places to check it (two people's worth surely wouldn't fit in a locker?), it would be very inconvenient to be wrong.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a map of Gare du Nord or Gare du Est... and, as I don't speak French, I'm not sure that I'd recognize "left luggage booth" or "baggage check" if I had one.

Can anybody help?

Best travel option between the Airport and Le Cruesot

We are staying in Le Cruesot in June for 2 days and I want to know what is the best way to travel to and from the airport and Le Cruesot.

It depends from which airport..

You probably mean a Paris airport... Please let us know. France is a big country...

estherschindler, I don't know the answer to your question, but may I respectfully suggest you check the Fodor's Travel Forum. They have over 50,000 members and many many active members who travel all over the world. Paris is a favorite destination and there are experienced people who will undoubtedly give you advice.

Their web site is http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=2

If that doesn't work, just go to www.fodors.com and click the European Travel Forum. First type in "train station storage" or something like that in the search window. If you don't find your answer, post a question but title it "Gare du Nord or Gare du Est storage" so the right people read it. Sometimes people can be a little testy (or just plain rude) on Fodors, but most of them are genuinely helpful and I'm sure someone will answer your question.

Good luck. Sounds like you will have a very exciting day in Paris!

Even if that were an option -- to where would I ship it? If I was staying at a hotel overnight, I'd be able to leave the bags there (or at least I'd expect to check them there). Since I'm not "parked" anyplace, I don't think that would work.

Long ago, when I was growing up in New York, I remember that all the big museums had check rooms. (If nothing else, people needed to leave coats and raingear.) I wonder if I could do so in Paris as well?

Esterschlindler: I don't know what the answer is but one idea to think twice about is shipping the baggage ahead via UPS/FEDEX etc. A recent post in another thread described a nightmare using that method. Although being in the EU might be different. Maybe it is an idea. Donerail
