From Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon

While in St. Remy, be sure to visit Les Baux and if you like Roman ruins, Glanum just outside of town. I think Glanum is free on Sundays. At least it was last Fall.

Sounds like you are going to have a lovely trip. We're headed to Scotland in April-May and then to France for September-October. We'll just be in the Loire this time though.

Not a problem. In England, we're spending a few days in the Cotswolds and Cornwall, a couple of days in Poole with some friends, and a couple of days in London. After the Burgundy canal trip, we'll spend eight days in Provence (St. Remy and Tourettes-sur-Loup).

I should have looked at the RER map instead of the Metro map. It's much easier to read . . . not so many lines.

Following up on your recommendation, I just looked at the RER map on-line, and looks like RER D goes directly from GduN to GdeL. Is this correct? Would this be easier?

Many thanks for the info. Actually, we are renting a boat with two other couples and doing a one week canal trip from Migennes to Tannay.

Take RER-B direction St. Remy to the Chatelet les Halles station. Transfer to RER A in the direction of either Chessy-Marne la Vallee or Boissy-St. Leger. It's just one stop in either direction.

You could also do the Metro to Chatelet les Halles and switch to RER A. Either way works. There are fewer stops on the RER so it's probably faster. I didn't check times.
