I would like to help anyone travelling to France and wanting to rent a gite directly with the property owner. I would highly recommend www.simplygites.com as we have just returned from a great holiday all booked through simply gites.

Interesting Mark. We've used Gites de France for years for our holidays. They are thoroughly vetted and we've always had a wonderful experience. You might want to look at them too.

The nice thing about a gite is that you have a home away from home and really feel you belong there. We've enjoyed meeting the gite owners too. They usually give great touring ideas.
