France and the US

Fahrenheit 9/11 opens in French theaters today !!!

Today was the official release of F 9/11 in French movie theaters. I went straight to see it of course. I attended the last showing, the 10:15 PM one. The hall was PACKED, something I don't see often at this time of the day and in the middle of a week in july ! The crowd was rather focused and well-behaved during the movie, with occasional laughters of course, but then, it APPLAUDED at the end ! Something very rare in French theaters ! Last time I witnessed a round of applause in a French theater was 14 years ago at the beginning of T2 - Judgement Day !

This movie rocks ! I hope many Americans go see it, wake up, and get rid of Evil Chimp and his gang of neo-cons thugs ! So our two countries can be friends again !

France and Germany oppose death penalty for Saddam

Interesting arcticle....I doubt that the Iraqi people are going to listen to Europe about this one:

PARIS - Baghdad's decision to re-establish the death penalty ahead of the war crimes trial of Saddam Hussein evoked a mixed reaction in Europe, recalling the split across the continent over the war that toppled the Iraqi leader.
Germany and France, two of the most vocal anti-war opponents, strongly stated their opposition without exception to the death penalty and called on Iraqi authorities to ensure Saddam a fair trial.

Classiness Factor

This is a lightharted forum out to the French or people that know them well:

Between Bush and Kerry; Who do the French think is more classy and good looking? (Remember hard politics laid aside,)

Censorship Issues

This thread it about the censorship that was being talked about on "Boycott Redux ?". I created this to keep it off the other threads.

Nation?

After reading some of the debates, I think we need to answer one question;

What is your definition of a nation? Just the definition,

An Awating War...?

Many possibilities can create an upcoming war possibly. With France and Germany wanting to drop Tiananmen Square sanctions against selling weapons to China this could bring a new huge dilemma. For one why does China even need that much arms of destuction anyhow?
