France and the US

Why the Anomosity towards USA

I am very much interested in getting comments from anyone explaining "intelligently" and in good taste why there is so much anomosity towards America...I am serious...I see in the forums that this issue has never been addressed...just skirted around...AND,

I understand that we are feared, that other peoples look at us as bullies...but, it is a known fact that People might not LIKE power, but they do respect it, if grudginly...And someone might explain to me in an intelligent way WHY America seems to be the country that HAS to try and straighten out all of the world's problems...

AND THE BIG ONE...If we are hated, despised and looked down upon by the majority...why do immigrants still want to come here in droves?

Not All of Us Agree

In my experience, there are many French who make assumptions about American people. Many things are assumed about American people, in part because of the way their country acts, and in part because of the way they themselves act when they are travelling abroad. I would like to say something.

Not all of us agree.

It was just last night I was involved in an argument with a very old friend of mine. I had not seen him in a long time, and when I spoke to him he told me he intended to join the army. He did not have any very good reason why, except that he wanted to have a high-paying job so he could afford to marry his longtime girlfriend. When I was talking to him, he shared some opinions with me that he did not have last time I talked to him.

French Politics

I'm curious about the political situation in France. For instance, which areas in France are more liberal? Which are more conservative? Were there any regions that supported the war in Iraq? If so, why are they different? In the last election who voted for La Peine? And, Who voted for Chirac?

I boycott american products for my health

I was very surprise the other day because I find a lot of site against french and France and i was trying to find the same in the other side but nothing
Me I fight against your government but I don't blame all the american for an economic problem, i boycott mac donalds and coca cola for the symbol of the capitalism (it dosn't mean that i am communist)and also because i don't want to have healthy problems like a lot of american kids (or older) have
and i wanted to say also that french people react but they react on everything they are not so patriotic, they are proud of their wine, their food but they don't follow a stupid president
and for the war i think that the media manipulate a lot the mind of the people, me i was against but i didn't read just the french newspaper i also rea

French products

Would someone please post a comprehensive list of products sold in America that you know are French products? Of course, I know about French wine, but I know there are lots more things imported from France that aren't as clearly labelled. Thank you.

Hey Francomphiles everywhere!

Just a quick note to let you know that our own Jean-Noel Frydman will appear on "Your World" with Neil Cavuto this Friday, 4:00PM EST. Will he convince FNC to change their position on the Boycott? We doubt it, but it'll be interesting to watch.
