Safety

Hi,I rented a converted farmhouse in France last year. There was an unfenced pond in the garden and an open staircase in the property with an unprotected drop of 30' from the top onto a concrete floor. One of my children, aged 5 years, fell off the staircase, at a low level, and injured her leg. Renting such accommodation would not be permitted in the USWe are thinking of returning to France next year. Does anyone know if holiday accommodation has to meet any safety standards, do they have to be registered? How can I be sure properties are safe for children?Any thoughts would be welcome

Just returned from a great holiday in the south of France Aquitaine, Lot-et-Garonne, I wanted to rent a gite direct with the property owner and not use a travel agent. I came across serveral websites that advertised gite rental. However, the one we used was www.SimplyGites.com it was an easy to use site, and put us in contact with the owner. It was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Need to compare prices of Paris Hotels!!!!

Hi everyone, I am planning to go to Paris this season with my cousins. Since we are a group of teenagers we would like to make this trip an economical one and would like to know the staying costs that we are going to incur from the hotels there. We would be likely wanting the place to be in a centralized location so that it’s easy to travel in the city without much trouble. Thanks in advance!!!

My Dream Holiday in Honfleur Normandy

I haven't traveled a lot in France, I've been only in Paris and Normandy. Normandy is the region I have much more appreciated. We have been to Deauville, Trouville, Cabourg... but it's in Honfleur where we got our Hotel. Our Holiday at this hotel was like a Dream comes True. Very nice welcome, very nice charming rooms and located at proximity of the old port boat. The city of Honfleur was quite calm and very peaceful. We have also appreciated the different Holiday Packages the hotel offers to us with original themes and surprises. It's not common to find this kind of offers in this region, but this hotel use to get this great idea. We have been able to travel around with the Limousine from the hotel and that was quite romantic.

philosophy behind traveling

The daily schedule has propelled a human being to look like a robot which is programmed only to repeat the assigned tasks and meet his target day after day. Todays human being has completely lost it's individuality. There is no difference between one day with another, it is basically a repeatation of some thing of what he has done just a day prior to that day. Even in this age of technology an individual looks very helpless. In this state I really think one needs motivation from outside, which not only energies the mind of that particular individual but also his soul. There is no better way to do that than traveling.
