Best Way to Rent a Car?
Submitted by denisema18 on June 8, 2007 - 3:12pm.We will be flying into CDG and immediately driving down to Loire (3nts), Burgundy (3nts), and back up to Paris (3nts).
We don't want the rental car when we are in paris the last 3 nights.
How/where should we go about renting a car?
Should we rent it out of the airport? I'm just nervous about trying to find our way out!
If so, we'll have to return it to the airport when we arrive in Paris and then take a taxi/metro to our hotel.
I have everything else booked but the car, but I'm not quite sure if there are other options for rental places outside of the airport, or if we could possibly have it picked up at our Paris hotel when we arrive.
any advice or recommednation is appreciated.

Drive time: Amboise, Loire to Beaune, Burgundy?
Submitted by denisema18 on June 7, 2007 - 5:22am.We are planning to rent a car for a 10 day trip from Paris to Loire and over to Beaune.
Can anyone provide me withan estimated drive time from Amboise to Beaune (and maybe an suggested route)?
It appears on the map I have (an avis suggested itinerary), it would be an 8 hour drive straight through. However, there may be a more straightforward route. The Avis route is about 381 miles and has various side trip stops to select towns.
I just want to see if we're going to have to book a night somewhere in the middle. We don't want to be rushing around and doing an 8 hour drive to get to the next place.
I've already booked a place in Amboise, so I can't really change that part of our itinerary.
Thanks for the info in advance!

Loire/Burgundy/Paris- i've made a decision
Submitted by denisema18 on June 4, 2007 - 5:24pm.After doing research and reading your replies to my posts ('Paris/Normandy/Burgundy possible?'), I've decided on doing Paris/Loire/Burgundy.
I think we'll be ok doing this in 10 days. We plan on flying into Paris and immediately driving down to Loire for 3 nights(accomodations still TBD- there are too many beautiful places!), then to Burgundy for 3 nights, and back up to Paris for 3 nights.
Now, my question is- where to base ourselves in each area? Loire isn't so much of an issue: I'm looking at Tours/Amboise area...but Burgundy I'm not sure of.
Would you recommend Beaune or Dijon as a base? we will have rental car for the whole trip (with exception of Paris..we want to return it once we get there).
Arranging Tours
Submitted by Anonymous on May 29, 2007 - 8:48am.like to take a half-day tour of Paris, would like to visit Versailles, and
would like to take a night cruise on the Seine. We need some good advice on
this for first-time visitors, and we would need the information delivered
during the tour to be in English. Please advise.
