Golf of La grande Bastide

Where the aromas of the Grasse region linger in the air

The Grande Bastide golf course is one of the Côte d’Azur’s most famous. It is situated at the heart of the region of perfumes, at the foot of the hills of the Niçoise hinterland. Blending perfectly with it’s environment, it offers magnificent views of Grasse, Opio and Châteauneuf de Grasse .

Designed by Cabel Robinson, once a partner of Robert Trent Jones Senior, the course is essentially comtemporary. It offers the golfer wide-open fairways and greens protected by numerous bunkers and water obstacles.

The Monument

In 1692, the region was again invaded by the troops of Victor-Amédée II, Duke of Savoy. Vauban undertook the construction of a fortress that would resist the enemy’s advances and ensure the protection of the population. A large rock dominating the valleys of the Guil and the Durance rivers seemed the ideal site as it was both inaccessible and inhospitable. In 1693, work began on a new city and new fortifications. Construction and consolidation continued for almost a century.
