According to local legend, after God created the earth, the sun, the mountains and the sea to shape our planet, the leftovers of each were used to create a paradise: Provence-Alpes-Côte dAzur, the land stretched between the summits of the Alps and the expanse of the Mediterranean sea.
True or false, the legend sums up the appeal of a territory referred to as "PACA" by the French. Twice the size of Delaware, it covers 12,125 square miles at the southeasternmost tip of France.
